Non-Approved Fill Materials Found at Empty Waste Water Site PDF E-mail

The city has received evidence of non-approved, non-conforming clean fill materials at the redevelopment site of former Appvion waste water treatment site, located at 4000 Hydraulic Rd.

On Feb. 8, city’s code enforcement officer, Carl Enterman, met with officials from Public Health-Dayton & Montgomery County – which reviewed the non-approved materials and notified the city that it will issue a violation and request for removal.

The city has temporarily halted the refill project and is requesting that the contractor remove all of the non-conforming materials.

The site was donated to the city in 2015 by Appvion to be used as a recreational site. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

City Launches New Website PDF E-mail

The city is excited to be the pilot city in a newly-launched government digital services company called ProudCity.

“We’re confident that our new website will help us better serve our community,” said Erika Mattingly, public relations coordinator.

ProudCity was recently named “one of five companies to watch” by Government Technology and e.Republic Labs.

The new website aims to help residents, businesses and visitors, better access services and information and it features:

• an easy-to-use administrative tool that allows staff to quickly make changes;

• a responsive design that adapts to phones, tablets, laptops and computers;

• a simple search function that makes it easier to find information and services;

• an ‘Answers’ tool that lets users quickly access frequently asked questions.
